Summer Martial Arts Camps

Family Camp:
Friday, June 7th and Saturday, June 8th
Open to all ranks and ages
Cost $20
Dinner at 6:00 on Friday, first session is 7:00-8:30.
Saturday’s sessions will run from 7:30-11:45 and end with lunch at noon.

Youth Camp:
Friday, June 7th – Saturday, June 15th
Open to ages 12-20, all ranks
Cost $115 which includes Sunday lunch at Cici’s, if you are pre-registered by May 24th.
Cost increases to $150 on the 25th.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY AT THE TIME YOU REGISTER, we just need an accurate headcount for meal planning.
$20 per day if you can only come for part of the camp.

Brown/Black Belt Camp:
Friday, June 14th – Saturday, June 15th
Open to brown and black belts of all ages
Cost $20
Dinner at 6:00 on Friday, first session is 7:00-8:30.
Saturday’s sessions will run from 7:30-11:45 and end with lunch at noon.

EXAMPLE SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULE

FRIDAY (Youth and Family Camp)
5:00-6:00 – Campers arrive and settle in
6:00-6:45 – Supper
7:00-8:30 – Training session
11:00 – Lights out

SATURDAY (Youth and Family Camp)
6:30-7:15 – Breakfast
Three or four class options will be offered during each of the morning sessions
7:30-8:45 – Session 1
9:00-10:15 – Session 2
10:30-11:45 – Session 3
12:00 – lunch
Family Camp will be over BUT everyone is welcome to stay to enjoy the camp, play basketball, swing, swim, practice in the dojo, walk the trails, etc.
6:00-6:45 – Supper
7:00-8:30 – Evening Training/Session 00
11:00 – Lights out

SUNDAY (Youth camp)
8:00 – Wake up
8:30 – Breakfast
9:45 – Leave for Church at Anthem
11:00 – Church service
Lunch at Cici’s Pizza (cost is included)
Free time – games, recreation, crafts, etc.
4:30 – Camp meeting
6:00-6:45 – Dinner
7:00-8:30 – Evening training/Session 0
8:30-9:30 – Clean up, shower, straighten bunks
9:30-10:15 – Small groups
10:15-11:00 – Free time to wind down
11:00 – Lights out

MONDAY-FRIDAY
6:00 – Wake up
6:10-6:40 – Run
6:45-7:15 – Personal Spiritual Training
7:20-8:00 – Breakfast
8:15-9:45 – Training (with spiritual application)
10:00-11:45 – Work project
12:00-1:00 – Lunch (this includes kitchen and dinning room clean up time)
1:00-4:30 – Free time – swim, fish, basketball, rest, training, trails, etc.
4:30-5:30 – Spiritual training time
5:30-6:00 – Clean up and chores
ON FRIDAY – Brown and Black belt campers arrive between 5:00-6:00
6:00-6:45 – Supper
7:00-8:30 – Evening training (with spiritual application)
11:00 – Lights out and quiet

SATURDAY
6:30-7:15 – Breakfast
A few class options will be offered during each of the morning sessions
7:30-8:45 – Session 1
9:00-10:15 – Session 2

Packing and Additional Information

Suggested packing list:

  • WATER BOTTLE!!!!
  • Gi, belt, sparring gear.  If you have a light weight gi, bring it.
  • Weapons and breaking materials
  • Bible, notebook, training manual, pen/pencil
  • Toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brush, deodorant, sunscreen, bug repellant, soap, wash cloth and towel, and deodorant)
  • Bedding: sleeping bag or sheets, and pillow
  • Sleeping clothes
  • Working clothes, shoes, and gloves
  • Modest swimming attire (girls, please wear a t-shirt over your swim suit)
  • (optional) healthy snacks
  • Card games and board games!!
  • If you are planning to run the Warrior Course, please wear clothes that can get ruined and running shoes that can get wet and muddy.
  • Sandals cannot be worn during work times or for walking between bunkhouse and dojo because of snakes.  You can wear them going to and from the lake.
  • Prescriptions:  Please bring all prescriptions in original bottle with printed dosage instructions.
  • Optional: Small umbrella/poncho and a flashlight
  • OPTIONAL: Yarn crafty people, if you knit or crochet, please bring your supplies.  Anyone who would like to participate can help make blankets and hats for a local outreach center during free time.  Christa will teach anyone who would like to learn to knit or crochet

Prohibited items:

  • Any kind of electronics that will distance you from people like laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc.  Cell phones on airplane mode for use as cameras are permissible, but no gaming, texting (good luck with that out here anyway), music, etc.
  • Fireworks
  • Bad attitudes
  • No alcohol, tobacco, narcotic/drugs, vaping

    FAILURE TO ABIDE BY CAMP RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT GUIDELINES WILL RESULT IN CAMPERS BEING SENT HOME AT HIS/HER PARENTS’ EXPENSE.

BREAKING:
We will have re-breakable boards but if you want to break something else, please feel free to bring it.

WEAPONS:
Be sure and bring all kobudo weapons that you wish to train in. 

SWIMMING:
Remember, there will be NO swimming without a life jacket.  There will be no exceptions.  Children under 12 must be attended by a parent/guardian.
