WHO ARE THE CLASS INSTRUCTORS?
Head instructor Victor Self -
Sensei Victor’s karate roots started in Shotokan where he achieved a Brown belt. When the family moved to Oklahoma City he wanted to continue his karate training and chose Surrey Hills ABKA dojo where he joined as a white belt. His persistence and hard training paid off, in September 2013 he received his Shodan Black belt in September 2013 with Nidan in September 2014 and Sandan in April 2018. Sensei Victor is very kind and caring which makes him an excellent instructor.

Susanne
Sensei Susanne found her love of Martial Arts from television and movies. She was thrilled when Sensei Holzbauer started a karate class so affordable and close to home in September 2007. She attended his original first class. She received her Shodan in September 2011, with Nidan in September 2014 and Sandan in September 2017. She helps out wherever is needed and is the ‘mom’ of the group.
Harvey
Sensei Harvey has been in martial arts for many years. Presently, he instructs as a Nidan black belt at the Surrey Hills Dojo. Sensei Harvey started his martial arts journey in Judo in 1977. He won the Texas State Judo Championships in 1979 as a Sankyu brown belt. His karate journey began in October 2009 at Surrey Hills with his youngest daughter, Madison, under Sensei Holzbauer as white belts. Under Sensei Holzbauer, both Madison and Harvey reached Shodan together in March 2014. Nidan was reached by Madison in September 2017 and Harvey after 2 knee replacement surgeries in April 2018.
Harvey is honored to “give back” as an instructor to Surrey Hills Dojo as many have poured into his martial arts journey along the way.
Bobby Gwinn
Sensei Bobby obtained his Black Belt in October of 2022. He started his karate journey at Surrey Hills in 2014 at the age of 43. Bobby continues to grow in his knowledge of the martial arts and relationship to Jesus Christ. He is always willing to assist in teaching students and providing support as needed. He is now working towards Nidan.
